The Economic Development Zones in Zhejiang Province Improve Their Development Efficiency continuously

On August 31st, the reporter learned from the work conference for the development zones across this province that according to preliminary statistics, in the first half of this year, 74 economic development zones in this province contributed 30.8% of the total fiscal revenue, 46.5% of the total import and export volume, and 55.7% of the total foreign capital actually employed in the whole province.

 

In the past 40 years of reform and opening up, the environment for development in the development zones is undergoing profound changes. At the beginning of this year, Zhejiang issued new policies for the deepening of reform, the expansion of opening up, and innovate development in the development zones, and proposed to give the state-level development zones the same economic and social management authority as the prefecture cities, thus accelerating the entry of the development zones in this province into an era of transformation and upgrading.

 

In the new round of reform in the development zones, the development efficiency of the  economic development zones in this province improved continuously. In 2017, the average income per mu reached 105,000 yuan when it comes to the land developed in the economic development zones in this province, representing an increase of 12,000 yuan per mu over the previous year; the average added value per mu reached 1.026 million yuan in the industrial enterprises above standard size, an increase of 10,000 yuan per mu over the previous year; the industrial labor productivity was 232,000 yuan per person, an increase of 0.5 million yuan per person over the previous year; R&D expenditure accounted for 1.55% of the income from the main business; clean productivity reached 1.8%.
