Governor Yuan Jiajun led a government delegation to Singapore on a goodwill visit on Aug 21 to 23. During his stay in Singapore, Mr. Yuan met Mr. Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister and National Security Co-ordinator, Mr. Chen Zhensheng, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Ms. Shen Ying, Senior Minister of Government Affairs of the Department of Communications and Information and the Department of Community, Culture and Youth, and had a cordial and friendly talk with them.

In his talks, Yuan pointed out that although Singapore has a small land area, it has brought its advantages to the extreme and accomplished many important things. In particular, Singapore has many advanced technologies and successful experiences in social governance, digital economy, smart government affairs and green development, which are worth learning from in Zhejiang Province. At present, Zhejiang is thoroughly implementing Xi jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, focusing on high quality, competitive power and modernization, vigorously implementing the ten action plans for enriching the people and strengthening the province, combining efforts for high-quality development, and accelerating the building of "two high-levels". It is hoped that the two sides will seize the opportunity to tap the potential of cooperation between the two places and push forward a number of key cooperation projects in a pragmatic manner so that the people of the two places can share more fruits of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Zhang Zhixian, Chen Zhensheng and Shen Ying warmly welcome the government delegation from Zhejiang Province to Singapore. They hope to take this visit as an opportunity to strengthen the economic and trade exchanges between Singapore and Zhejiang Province, strengthen the all-round cooperation in port trade, scientific and technological innovation, beauty construction, cultural tourism and other fields, and achieve a higher level of win-win cooperation.
