On May 31st, the Provincial Government held the 5th executive meeting. Yuan Jiajun, the Provincial Governor, stressed that we must carry out the spirits of the provincial meeting on opening to the outside, stick to the orientation as a strong opening province, and implement the key “belt and road” action plan, so as to celebrate the 40th anniversary of opening to the outside with high quality development.
The meeting reported on our participation of the first China International Import Expo (CIIE), and on the preparatory work on the 4th China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo (CEEC Expo), the 20th Zhejiang Investment and Trade Fair (ZITF), and the 17th China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF).
As Yuan pointed out, to hold China-CEEC Expo is an important decision of the Party Central Committee to promote a new round of high-quality opening to the outside, and an important measure to open Chinese markets to the world. We must further improve our political awareness, overall consciousness and sense of responsibility, and have a keen awareness of the great significance of taking part in the first CIIE, so as to do well in preparing for our participation. We must actively promote our connection with Shanghai and the higher-quality integrative growth of the Yangtze River Delta, so as to further improve our level of opening. We must strengthen overall planning and coordination, highlight Zhejiang characteristics, emphasize task implementation, fully demonstrate excellent folk handicrafts and characteristics of development of Zhejiang, so as to tell a good story of Zhejiang, and show the true charm of the province.
Yuan pointed out that the CEEC Expo and the two trade fairs are our brand-name programs, while the CEEC Expo is an important part of the opening platform of the province. We must follow the requirement of “excellent and influential”, and take those programs as important carriers to serve the “belt and road” development. We must play well the endgame of our preparatory work, and further improve the planning of the conventions, so as to guarantee the success of the various activities. With a global orientation and a future perspective, we must innovate the mechanism as a host of conventions, and attract the domestic and foreign enterprises and non-government institutions to participate, so as to forge a national-level opening platform and achieve harvests in both brand influence and exhibition economic benefit.
The meeting also reported on the drafting of Opinions on Implementing Knowledge-Value-Oriented Distribution Policy, on methods of evaluating the educational responsibilities of county-level governments, and on drug control of the whole province.
