April saw a year-on-year increase of 2.2% in CPI in Zhejiang.

The reporter learned from Zhejiang Survey Corps of the National Bureau of Statistics on the 10th that the total consumer price level of Zhejiang residents in April rose by 2.2% year-on-year and decreased by 0.1% compared with that in the previous month.
In April, the price of food and tobacco rose by 2.1% year-on-year. The prices of food, except those of livestock meat which fell 8.7% year-on-year, rose year-on-year: the prices of fresh vegetables, eggs, fresh fruits, poultry, and aquatic products rose by 12.3%, 8.6%, 7.5%, 6.4% and 5.1% respectively. In addition, restaurant food prices rose by 2.9% and grain prices rose by 1.0%. Among the other seven categories,the prices of six types rose year-on-year and the prices of one type decreased year-on-year. Among them, residential prices led the rise, up to a 4.5% in increase year-on-year.
