Zhejiang Ranked Second in the Number of Registered Trademarks across the Country.

The “Zhejiang Province Trademark Brand Development Report 2017” (hereinafter referred to as the “Report”) officially released by Zhejiang Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce on the 8th showed that by the end of 2017, the total number of valid trademark registrations in Zhejiang was 15,448,27, ranking second in the country, only second to Guangdong.
The "Report" shows that with the vigorous development of the export-oriented economy in this province, the number of overseas trademark registrations has been increasing. Madrid trademark registrations have grown most in Hangzhou and Taizhou. By 2017, there has been a total of 76,713 overseas registered trademarks in Zhejiang Province, with an annual growth of 3,277. In 2017, the number of applications for the international registration for Madrid trademarks in this province was 483, an increase of 14.45% over that in 2016. By the end of 2017, there had been 4792 Madrid trademark registrations in this province, the number of registrations in 2017 increased by 262, and the number of annual growth increased by 127 compared to that in 2016. Notably, Hangzhou and Taizhou each saw an increase of more than 60 applications from those in 2016, the largest annual increase.
In addition, the trademark pledge financing in our province accounted for 37.4% of the total amount handled in the same period across the country, ranking first in the whole country. 482 trademark pledge registrations have been newly handled in this province, involving 1,860 trademarks and a credit amount of 5.86 billion yuan.
