In January, CPI in Zhejiang Rose by 1.7% over the Same Period Last Year.

Reporters learned from the Zhejiang Investigation Corps of National Bureau of Statistics on February 9 that in January, the general consumer price index in our province rose by 1.7% over the same period last year.

Statistics show that in January food and tobacco prices rose by 0.4% over the same period last year. Among them, the price of eggs rose by 6.3%; that of fresh fruits rose by 3.9%; that of poultry meat rose by 3.2%; that of restaurant meals rose by 2.1%; that of crops rose by 1.2%; that of dairy products rose by 1.0%; that of aquatic products rose by 0.7 %. However, the prices of livestock meat and fresh vegetables declined, with pork price falling by 8.2%.

The comparison shows that in January the year-on-year growth of the consumer prices slowed down by 0.7%, compared with that in the previous month. Among them, the growth of the prices of cultural entertainment, family services, as well as food and tobacco slowed down. At the same time, under the influence of the policy of "speeding up services and reducing fees" adopted by the communications industry and the according reduction of communication fees by some operators, the price of communications services dropped by 3.4%, compared with the same period last year.
