In Zhejiang, where the private economy is highly developed, the state-owned economy is equally excellent. On December 13, the reporter learned from the press conference on the reform and development of state-owned enterprises in Zhejiang Province that in the past 40 years of reform and opening up, especially since the implementation of the "double eight strategies", Zhejiang's state-owned economy has ranked first in the country, and the reform and development of state-owned enterprises has made positive contributions to promoting economic and social development in the province.

Not long ago, the provincial government first revealed to the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress the "volume" of the state-owned assets of the province. Data show that as of the end of 2017, the province's state-owned assets totaled 10.44 trillion yuan, ranking second in the country; net assets reached 3.26 trillion yuan, ranking fourth in the country; operating revenue in 2017 reached 1.53 trillion yuan, ranking the fifth in the country; and the total profit reached 94.6 billion yuan, ranking 6th in the country, which was 13.7 times, 14.2 times, 3.4 times and 4.1 times higher than 2003 respectively.

The significant improvement of state-owned economic strength is also reflected in the scale of state-owned enterprises. At present, 9 state-owned enterprises are among the top 500 Chinese enterprises. Among them, Wuchan Zhongda Group has been on the list of the World's Top 500 for eight consecutive years, and a group of “100 billion” enterprises have come into being.
