Eight Lost in Xiangshan Shipwreck; Che Jun, Yuan Jiajun Demands Full Search and Rescue

At 11 o'clock on the evening of September 30, Ship ZXY41020 sank in the sea about 70 nautical miles northeast of Shipu Port in Xiangshan County, and 8 people on board lost contact. As of 8:00 pm on October 1st at the press time, the missing persons were still not found. The Provincial Maritime Search and Rescue Center was organizing forces to search.

After receiving the report, the Provincial Party Secretary Che Jun and Governor Yuan Jiajun made an instruction to fully search for and rescue the lost people, and at the same time comprehensively strengthen the operation of the ship management to ensure production safety.

The reporter learned from the Provincial Maritime Search and Rescue Center that the center immediately launched an emergency plan after receiving the boat sinking information at 1:58 am on October 1, coordinating five vessels and 1 rescue helicopter of the Marine Fishery Department and the East China Sea Rescue Bureau, and more than 20 fishing boats near the incident area to participate in the search and rescue. Currently, the ships and helicopters involved in the rescue are conducting carpet searches. As of press time at 8:00 pm on October 1, only a small amount of oil and floats and an unmarked life raft were found on the spot. The accident investigation is in progress simultaneously.
