Reporters recently learned from Zhejiang Administration of Agriculture that the province has completed the construction of grain production zones one year ahead, which shows that Zhejiang has achieved the goals of agricultural “Two Zones” construction and solidified the foundation for implementing the rural revitalization strategy.
As early as 2010, the province put forward the goals of agricultural “Two Zones” construction within 8 years, including the construction of 800 modern agricultural zones within 5 years and the construction of 8 million acres grain production zones. By the end of November 11, 2017, 10,172 grain production zones with 8.19 million acres have been constructed, which means the goal of the construction of 8 million acres was completed a year in advance. Besides, 818 modern agricultural zones with 5.16 million acres have been constructed, which meets the established goal.

Thanks to the construction of “Two Zones”, the level of modern agriculture in Zhejiang has been improved and value per mu has increased. It is estimated that grain yield in Food Production Zones is 7% more and output value every Mu in Modern Agriculture Zones is also 30% more. Meanwhile, modern agriculture featured ecological circulation is developing faster based on “Two Zones”. The production pattern of Circulation inside the Zone has become an important link in circular agriculture system in the province.
