On January 2, the reporters learned from the Office of the “Three Renovations and One Demolition” campaign that in 2017, there are 2,064 spots with problems of “Four Sides” (namely, the purification, afforestation and beautification of roadsides, railway sides, riversides and hillsides), among which 2,031 have been rectified, accounting for 98.4% of the total. Except for 33 spots that comprehensively disposed with the renovation of urban village of 2018, the rest of them have been renovated. All cities with districts push themselves to do the self-examination and self-correction    based on the major problems at provincial level, 28,149 spots have been investigated and rectified.
In the beginning of 2017, according to the spirit of “The Action Plan for deepening ‘Four Sides’ in Zhejiang (2015-2020)” made by the Zhejiang provincial party committee and government, the Office of the “Three Renovations and One Demolition” made the annual work plan of the problematic spots rectification of roadsides, “Blue Roof” specific rectification and “Two Hundreds” construction (100 model roads and 100 model city entrances). Different counties, county-level cities, districts made solid progress in the “Four Sides” work with the unswerving spirit.

In 2017 CPPCC Zhejiang Provincial Committee launched two special campaigns for democratic oversight, which identified 524 problems, including naked mountainous areas, illegal structures and illegal use of land along highways and railways. In addition to solving the problems identified through democratic oversight exercised by CPPCC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, Zhejiang made greater efforts and checked areas beyond highways and railways to cover areas along roads connecting and/or cutting through counties and towns, and rivers managed by county-level governments. Inch-by-inch search was carried out to identify 10 types of targets for restoration of damaged land due to illegal structures and illegal distribution of waste and rubbish. The restoration targets also included abnormal mountainous areas and roofs that were not in harmony with local ecology.
