Zhejiang Communications Group Invested 51.3 Billion Yuan in Transportation Infrastructure in 2017

Following the initiation of the Big Bay Area, Big Garden, Big Channel, and Metropolitan Area Strategy, many new railway and highway projects are stepping up their implementation and construction in Zhejiang. According to Zhejiang Communications Investment Group Co., Ltd., it completed an investment of 51.3 billion yuan in transportation infrastructure in 2017, of which 23.2 billion yuan was put in 11 highway projects and 28.1 billion yuan in 13 railway and rail transit projects. 
In Zhoushan’s East China Sea area, 4 billion yuan was invested in the construction of the major passageway of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in 2017. The emerging passageway which links Fuchi Island, Zhoushan Island, Changbai Island, Daishan Island and Yushan Island will be the longest island expressway and have the largest cluster of sea bridges in the world after completion. On Hangjiahu Plain, the Hangzhou-Shaoxing section and Huzhou section of the Hangzhou Bypass’s west side double-track highway have started construction; the Qianjiang passageway and the connecting section which links Hangzhou-Pudong Expressway to Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway are rolling out smoothly; the Hangzhou-Haining Intercity Railway has been actually under construction; and the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou Railway is ready to break ground. In the metropolitan area of Jinhua and Yihu, the Jiande-Jinhua Expressway is under construction with improved technology. In the remote area of Wenchen and Taishun, the Longyou-Lishui-Wenzhou Expressway is pushing forward for the last connecting sections, which will help achieve full expressway coverage of each county in the land territory of the province. In Taizhou, the Yueqing Bay Bridge and its connecting sections have been built, and the east side section of Taizhou-Jinhua Expressway is being extended well. In Ningbo, the first-stage construction of the Ningbo section of the Hangzhou-Ningbo double-track expressway has officially kicked off, and the Chuanshangang Railway project is progressing steadily. Besides, as part of the “Big Garden” strategy, Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Expressway is being broadened, Jiujiang-Quzhou Express Railway has been completed, and Quzhou-Ningde Railway is being built…
