On the morning of January 9, a briefing on the work of the province’s “Three-renovations and One-demolishing Project” was held in Hangzhou. Reporters learned that the province plans to achieve the “two hundred million” goal, namely “to demolish 100 million square meters of illegal buildings and 100 million square meters of “three renovations, including the reconstruction of 815 villages and 230,000 households, and strive to achieve the standard of “creating advanced county with no illegal construction” in all counties (cities, districts) and functional areas. As a result, the demolishing of villages in the city that has been built in the area will be basically completed by the end of this year.
The reconstruction of the villages in the city was closely related to the well-being of the people’s livelihood. In 2017, a total of 1,676 villages in the province were reconstructed. As by the end of December last year, there started 861 projects on the work of demolition and remediation with 318,400 households completed.
The renovation of villages this year not only requires the combination of demolition, governance (management of dangerous and old houses) and reuse (demolition and reuse) for the welfare of people, but also integrates the renovation of villages with the promotion of urban organic renewal. By means of “emptying the cage, removing the bird” policy, the goal of injecting new energy for the development of sustainable economic transformation will be achieved.
