Zhejiang’s First Batch of Provincial-level Food Safety Counties (Cities, Districts) Go through Examination and Acceptance

Food is the first necessity of people, and safety is the priority of food. Food Safety Office of Zhejiang revealed on September 25 that Zhejiang’s first batch of 7 provincial-level food safety countries (cities, districts) have been through examination and acceptance and are subject to public review on September 29.
In 2016, Guidelines on Creating Zhejiang’s Food Safety Counties (Cities, Districts) was issued, which makes specific arrangement for food safety work in the province to trigger “four solid improvements” in Zhejiang’s food safety level, food safety governance capacity, the healthy development level in food industry and public satisfactory level, by meeting the requirements of “fully covering cities and villages, fully launching in cities and counties, and fully meeting the standard during the “thirteenth five year” period. Through 5 years of efforts, the province strives to set up at least 2 National food safety model cities, all cities and counties (cities, districts) will be up to standards for them respectively in food safety, and a creating system with sound mechanism, scientific management and solid effect will come into place, signifying the burgeoning of food safety initiatives.
