Zhejiang Signs Cooperative Agreement with AQSIQ

On the afternoon of September 13, Zhejiang Provincial Government and the State General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine (AQSIQ) signed a cooperative agreement to further deepen the comprehensive pilot reform of national standardization in the province and work together to push forward the processes of standardization, accreditation, recognition, supervision, and inspection.
Che Jun, Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Congress, and Zhi Shuping, Director of the AQSIQ, witnessed the signature together. Zhu Congjiu and Tian Shihong, Director of the State Standardization Administration (SAC), signed the agreement.
Under the new agreement, Zhejiang and SAC are to co-found the Zhejiang branch of the BRICS Standardization Research Center, which will be developed as the backbone for the connection of policies, rules and standards among BRICS countries. It will also become a crucial force in the formulation of policies, rules and complementary standardization systems in the implementation of the “One Belt One Road” Initiative. And it is set to be an important platform for the transformation and upgrading of key industries and the optimization of business environment. Meanwhile, the provincial government and the State Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) signed an MOU to promote the cooperation in accreditation, recognition, supervision and inspection. CNCA is to step up its effort to try out inspection standards, technology and service in Zhejiang and deepen the relevant reform so that the experience can be applied nationwide. Besides, Zhejiang Provincial Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision and China National Institute of Standardization also signed a strategic cooperative agreement to build the Research Center for Quality Safety and Standardization of CNIS (Zhejiang) together, which will carry out the monitoring and evaluation of risks involved in quality safety as well as the study and implementation of the safety standards of consumer goods.
