Central Environmental Protection Inspectorate Transfers 27th Batch of Petition Letters

At 9 a.m. September 7th, the 2nd Central Environmental Protection Inspectorate transferred the 27th batch of petition letters, 266 in total, to Zhejiang, among which 2 were of great emergency and should be paid special attention to.
Sorted by pollution types, the 27th bath of petition letters are: 112 on water, 82 on air, 25 on noise, 11 on cooking fume, 8 on garbage, 7 on flowing dust, 4 on ecology, 2 on soil, 1 on heavy metal, 14 on other pollutants. Sorted by regions, they are 56 on Hangzhou (including 1 emergent letter), 29 on Ningbo, 21 on Wenzhou, 8 on Huzhou, 19 on Jiaxing (including 1 emergent letter), 36 on Shaoxing, 39 on Jinhua, 16 on Quzhou, 1 on Zhoushan, 32 on Taizhou, and 9 on Lishui.
As of 4 p.m. September 7th, 27 batches (5433 petition letters) have been transferred to local governments and provincial departments, among which 179 letters are repeated. 4048 letters have been reported to be handled. 5296 units have been urged to rectify the problems, and 2878 units have been punished legally with a fine of 157.6391 million yuan. What’s more, 93 cases have been finalized for investigation, 60 people have been under administrative detention and 61 under criminal detention. Besides, 584 people and 5 units have been arranged talks, and 254 people and 28 units have been held accountable including 1 department leader, 63 cadres of section-level, and 190 cadres below section-level.
