Zhejiang Issues First Half-year Bulletin on Comprehensive Improvement of Small-town Environment

A few days ago, Zhejiang published its half-year bulletin on the comprehensive improvement of the small-town environment. Overall Zhejiang has made initial progress in implementing the special campaign of the comprehensive improvement of the small-town environment as relevant projects are phasing in. At present, designs for projects under the campaign are rolling out all across the province to accelerate their phase-ins. From January to June this year 1,191 small towns in Zhejiang planned to implement more than 23,000 improvement projects, of which over 14,000 projects were launched. In other words, approximately 60.7% of the planned projects have kicked off; Jiaxing, Jinhua, Taizhou, Wuzhou and Shaoxing have launched more than 60% of their planned projects. The investment in all planned projects is projected to be around RMB188.91 billion, with RMB58.938 billion already used. Jiaxing and Shaoxing lead other local governments in actual investment so far.
More encouraging is the overall performance of the 443 small towns that were listed to meet the improvement targets within this year. Of the 9,439 planned projects in these 443 small towns, 7,447 projects have been launched, or 78.9% of the total; RMB32.689 billion, close to 49.7% of the planned investment which is RMB65.744 billion, has been invested in the projects.
