Zhejiang Sees Robust Growth in Foreign Trade in First 10 Months

Reporters learned from Hangzhou Customs that the total value of Zhejiang’s exports and imports in October reached 203.6 billion yuan, an increase of 14.3% over the same period of last year, and 4.1% higher than the national average. The export rose by 8.5%, 2.4% higher than the national average, and the import grew by 36.4%, 20.5% higher than the national average. In October, Zhejiang’s growth rate in import, export, and total value led the nation.
From January to October this year, Zhejiang’s imports and exports rose by 15.7% from the same period last year, exceeding 2 trillion yuan, reaching 2.07924 trillion yuan. The export grew by 10.2%, amounting to 1.58138 trillion yuan. The import increased by 38%, reaching 497.86 billion yuan. The import growth kept a big lead in the country.
As for the cities with districts in the province, Ningbo, a major city with prosperous trade, saw its import and export growth by 19.8% and 11.3% respectively in October. Both figures were higher than the provincial average. In the January-October period, Ningbo’s import and export maintained steady growth, up by 22.4% and 14.7% respectively, accounting for 40% and 35.7% of the total increase of the province. Besides, Zhoushan and Taizhou also achieved good results. Both cities’ import and export grew by 48.7% and 32% respectively while their export gained 30.9% and 30.1%.
