Pinghu Mo's Manor

This tourist spot based on Mo's fazenda exhibits mainly the architecture and real traditional furnishings. It is located at the east headwaters of South River in Danghu Town. First built in 1897, it is a large individual civil construction group. Three generations of local landlord Mo Fang Mei once lived there. The great fazenda has the construct acreage of 2,600 square meters. The whole construction group comprises 77 living rooms in various size, all resume their original Qing Dynasty architecture. The primary buildings on central axes in succession are the litter hall, main hall, passing hall and balcony. On the east side arrays gate hall, ancestral temple, accounting house, bloom hall, family hall for worshipping Buddha and the kitchen. On the west side there are study room, corner corridor and bedrooms. Three lone elegant gardens with consummate wood carvings and luxuriant brick carvings sprinkle among the ancient historic buildings, expressing a traditional Chinese architecture featuring harmony of arrays. Display in the halls combines paintings, calligraphies, curios and Qing Dynasty rosewoods furniture, depicting historic conventions and local endemic habitudes. Mo's fazenda exactly presents typically the South China stereotype in architecture of Qing Dynasty.

As a heritage of history, Mo's exhibition hall annotates the changing times, evolving society and accumulations of human culture. Nowadays, Mo's exhibition hall stands as Jiaxing culture tourism spot, Jiaxing patriotism education base and youth education base.
