Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZJGSU) is a public university located in Hangzhou, which is the capital city of Zhejiang Province and borders Shanghai in the east of China. With two campuses, namely Xiasha Campus and Jiaogonglu Campus, the university covers a total area of 1,944 mu, with a floor space of 874,800 square meters. Teaching facilities and research equipment have a total value of 200 million yuan and the number of computers for teaching purposes reaches 7,280.

The University has a student population of over 24,700 and offers fifty bachelor degree programs, thirty-seven master degree programs and three doctor degree programs in the fields of economics, administration, science, engineering, law, literature and arts. At present, there are 1,967 faculty and staff members in the university, including 1,320 full-time teachers, 37 doctoral supervisors, 199 full professors, 500 associate professors, and 373 Ph.D. degree holders.

ZJGSU is earnestly seeking more links with institutions of higher learning overseas in the area of education and scientific research, including faculty and student exchange programs. The university has established cooperative relationships with universities and other education and research institutions in more than 50 countries including the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Korea at multiple levels and of various forms in teacher training, student exchange, mutual recognition of credits, and joint training. It is entitled to enroll overseas students and those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, including long-term doctoral students from overseas. Different types of training and cooperative programs including Chinese Language and Culture, China and Chinese Business, and Business Chinese are run by its School of International Education.
