  Zhoushan Museum

    Established in late 1950s,it is a municipal synthetic museum in the southeast of Ding Hai downtown. At present there are four fixed exhibition halls available for visitors."Historical relics of ancient Zhoushan" displays the island culture development history ranging from the New Stone Age to Opium War in late Qing Dynasty, stressing the historical key hinge role Zhou Shan played in economic and cultural intercommunications and the drastic battles soldiers and citizens of Zhoushan won against all previous invasions in the history of China.

    "Exhibition of collections" lays out the curiosa of china wares, jade articles, ancient calligraphies and paintings in turn.

    "Cities in amity" depicts the rescue of a Japanese hooker led by Zhou Shao fishers three centuries ago profound friendship between the people of Zhou Shan and Japanese as well as friendly intercourse between Zhou Shan City and Kesennuma City of Japan.

    "Civilian Inhabitation of Zhou Shan" includes a scene of resumed Zhou Shan typical and traditional civilian inhabitation, expressing a full-bodied folk custom of island.

    "Science and technology" introduces principles of science with some edifying and interesting interactions to visitors.
